Fyne Pioneer, Loch Fyne

Site Name: Erskine - Kintyre Peninsula

History

The wreck of the Eriskine is the old chain ferry across the Clyde. She was sold to be used at the Kessock crossing at Inverness, however she floundered under tow on the east of the Kintyre Peninsular.

Dive Site Info

The wreck today is a lovely dive with lots of plumose anenomes covering her. She is more or less intact on a slightly silty bottom, making good bouyancy essential. One must be aware of lots of fishing nets covering the wreck. These do however make her easier to find on the sounder.

When to dive

Tide is less of an issue at this site, however it is best not to dive it on full flood.
