Sgeir na Maoile - West drops very quickly from the surface down to 25m, after which a bedrock seabed can be found. This however is covered in Tubularia as a result of the strong southerly tides that flow over this area. A kelp forest can be found above this on the wall, with lots of life mixed in amongst the kelp.

When to dive
Sgeir na Maoile - West can be dived at any time during the north bound tide. However it has a strong flow over it during the south bound tide, resulting in very rich life along its entire western edge.
