Custom Charters
Custom Charters are the exclusive hire of the Fyne Pioneer for the use by you, your group or your company. Private Charters on the Fyne Pioneer can be negotiated directly with Simon. Available dates for custom charters can be seen here. Previous private charters have included day trips to the Isle of Man TT Races, pleasure excursions, diving excursions, sightseeing and wildlife tours, boat access to remote locations and surveying.
About Custom Charters
Charters can be arranged from a variety of locations to a variety of destinations dependant on the requirements of you or your group.
The boat can take up to 12 passengers and 2 crew in relative comfort; life jackets will of course be provided for everyone's safety and comfort. Waterproof over suits and dry suits can be provided with prior arrangement.
Charters can accommodate as many or as few passengers as required, though there is a minimum charge of £600 per day for the use of the Fyne Pioneer. Bookings for multiple passengers and over multiple days may receive a discount.
Who can go on a Custom Charter?
The Fyne Pioneer can be chartered to suit your own requirements, so if you are part of a group of walkers wishing to explore the remote islands off the Scottish coast, the Fyne Pioneer can get you there. Equally if you wish to dive Bo Fascadale with a group of divers, or get to the Isle of Man TT Races with a group of bikers, explore the remote Whisky Distilleries on the Scottish Islands with your work colleagues the Fyne Pioneer and her crew can accommodate your needs. The possibilities are endless.
Family groups and children are welcome on board the Fyne Pioneer at the skippers discretion, and with prior notice to ensure that the correct size life jackets are available for those wishing to take part.

What can we do on a Custom Charter?
Corporate and team building events can be arranged with negotiation with Simon. There are plans for distillery tours around some of the famous Scottish island distilleries and these are ideal for corporate days out and stag events. Equally the Fyne Pioneer can work in collaboration with other outdoor pursuits groups to ensure you get what you want from your custom charter. Angling and fishing tours can also be arranged, as well as support for sea kayaking expeditions. Your day can be arranged to suit you, and we will endeavour to deliver the best possible experience for you. We can also arrange refreshments and lunches as required.
It seems silly but... What to wear on a Custom Charter
Custom charters are not fashion shows, so no high heels! Flat, comfortable footwear is required, for example, walking boots, trainers, wellington boots or other generally sensible footwear. When the weather is fine there is still a wind chill from the boat when it is moving at speed so dress warmly, a fleece and wind-cheater jacket are generally a good idea. A hat is also essential and long hair should be tied back to avoid looking really windswept and interesting! A drysuit can be provided for you to wear over your normal clothes and these are exceptionally good at keeping you warm and dry!
Costs for Custom Charters
A full day custom charter starts at £600 per day. A half day custom charter starts at £350 per day. Prices per person can be discussed with Simon when you book your custom charter and discounts are available for larger group bookings and bookings which cover a full weekend, or longer. A fuel surcharge may apply to custom charters, depending on your requirements and the distances you expect to cover on your charter. Deposits are also required to secure the booking of a custom charter, the usual deposit is 50% which is transferable with up to 4 weeks notice, and is non-refundable unless the Fyne Pioneer and crew have to cancel your booking for unforeseen reasons.
Insurance and Custom Charters
The Fyne Pioneer has insurance for all skippered custom charters, including trips for angling and diving. Any and all personal possessions are brought aboard the Fyne Pioneer at your own risk, as these are not covered in our insurance policy - so don't drop your camera over the edge!
Weather and Custom Charters
If the weather is exceptionally poor on the day of your private charter and the skipper deems it unsafe to sail then the deposit paid can be transferred to another mutually acceptable date and the charter re-organised. The skippers decision on whether to sail on the day is final. The skippers discretion will also be used to allow passengers on to the Fyne Pioneer, if anyone is deemed "unfit to travel" they will not be allowed aboard.
